American Enterprise Day is observed on November 15 each year. On this day, U.S. residents recognize free enterprise and how it has contributed to the economy.

Jimmy Carter made a Presidential Proclamation on August 8, 1980 directing that American Enterprise Day be observed. Chevron Corporation provided a grant to fund a program called “Getting Involved” in the 1980s to expose young people to capitalism through Future Business Leaders of America.

River HIll FBLA observes American Enterprise Day each year. It’s an opportunity to not only celebrate the free enterprise system and the advantages of doing business in this way, but also to educate other people about it.

Members in attendance will experience an in depth look at FBLA. The 2011-2012 projects and programs will be released and members will have an opportunity to sign up to participate. Officers will give an overview of the 2011-2012 conferences and competitive events.

In the face of unprecedented competition for jobs and colleges, 20 seconds is often the difference between an opportunity gained and an opportunity lost.

River Hill High School Future Business Leaders of America is proud to announce its October workshop, “First Impressions; Setting Yourself Apart in College and the Workforce.” This workshop will focus on how to take advantage of this small but important window of time, and find success despite adversity.

On October 24th from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm, all River Hill FBLA members are invited to attend the workshop, and hear from Suzanne Katsman, a business leader and experienced workshop presenter who will present on how to rise to the top in interviews, college, and beyond. The workshop will be held in the media center and dinner will be provided.
