In Maryland alone, the unemployment rates are shockingly high, especially Baltimore City. Many men and women in Baltimore are unable to get interviews, and when they do get interviews, they are unable to have the right attire meant for the job. This year, River Hill FBLA will start a new project to combat those issues. In a partnership with two organizations that aim to solve the problem, RHFBLA will be holding a business-attire-only-clothing-drive. The organization that collects business attire for men is the Helping Up Mission, and the organization that collects business attire for women is Suited to Succeed.
We are asking all members and their parents to help us reach our goal of collecting an aggregate total of 200 business suits for the men and women of Baltimore. With over 200 members in our organization, we should be able to work together and achieve this goal. You will be able to donate business attire in the front lobby of River Hill, we are asking that the clothes be clean and in good condition. If you are unsure of what is business appropriate, please visit this link: http://www.fbla-pbl.org/web/page/617/sectionid/614/main_interior.asp for more details. Every little bit helps, so go through any business clothes you’d be willing to donate and bring it to school!
Also, if you’re parents happen to own a business, and they’d be willing to put out donation boxes at their workplace, please E-mail Natalie Tran at NTran@rhfbla.org for more details and to work out an agreement. If you have any questions, or would like to be more involved with this project, please E-mail Natalie at NTran@rhfbla.org. Let’s all work together to serve our community!
